Privacy
Cog Siege has no account, no advertising, and no tracking. It sets no cookie.
In your browser
The game keeps in the local storage of your browser: your name, the language, the choice of motion, and a key that gives you your place back in a match for 24 hours. These stay on your device. Clearing the data of the site removes them.
On the server
During a match, the server holds your name, which the other players of the match see, and what you do in the match. It forgets them when the match is over. The server writes a log of the connections, with their IP address, to find faults and stop abuse. The log is kept for a limited time, and is used for nothing else.
Statistics
To know how the game is used, the server counts, for each day: the pages of the site seen, with the page, the language, the kind of device (phone, tablet, or computer), and the site you came from, if any; and the matches created, started, and finished. For each match played to the end, it writes one line: when it ended, its mode and its settings, how many players and bots, the levels of the bots, its length, whether a player or a bot won, the languages of the players, and how many of each tower and each monster. It keeps no name, no address, no identifier, and nothing that tells one visitor from another. The counts of each day are kept 13 months, the lines of the matches 12 months.
Third parties
The site and the game load nothing from another site, and no data is passed to anyone.
